Changes, going live and your own domain

Ask for changes in plain words, put your site live on a free address for your bio, and add your own domain when you're ready. All of it from the same Instagram chat.

A jewellery maker grinning at her phone; a gold stream of colour swatches and sparkles flows into a live website with a glowing globe

Asking for changes

Anything on your site can change: words, prices, photos, colours, pages added or taken away, a whole new look. Say what you want the way you'd say it to a person. Ullbek tells you it's on it, and comes back with the card when the change is done, usually within a few minutes.

For example
Put my real prices in the shop: I'll send them now. And make the classes page say Saturdays 10 till 12.
Or
Add a page about how I make each piece, using the photos from the studio.
Or
Can it feel a bit warmer? More cream, less grey.

If Ullbek is in the middle of building when you ask, nothing is lost: it says so, and your change goes in as soon as the current build finishes. When Ullbek has filled something in for you (a price, an address, opening hours), it says which, so you know what to send it.

Putting it live

Until you say so, your site is a private preview. When you're happy, tell Ullbek:

Say
Looks great. Put it live!
  1. Add your email (first time only)

Ullbek asks for an email address and sends a six-digit code to it. Type the code into the chat. Ullbek needs it because messages from your site's contact form go there, receipts go there, and it's how Ullbek reaches you when the chat has gone quiet.

  2. Ullbek publishes

Your site goes live on a free address made from its name, like yourname.ullbek.site, with HTTPS and a small Ullbek badge. It takes a few minutes, and Ullbek messages you when it's done.

  3. Copy your address

The address arrives as a message on its own, so you can copy it in one go.

The free address stays live for as long as you like, at no cost. Search engines are told about your pages automatically when the site goes live; there's nothing for you to do (how that works).

The link in your bio

Your website is most useful where your customers already are. To add it to your Instagram profile:

  1. Edit profile

Go to your profile and tap Edit profile.

  2. Add a link

Tap Links, then Add external link, and paste your address.

  3. Save

Tap Done. Your site is one tap from your profile.

Your contact form

Every site comes with a contact form that works from day one: no setup, no extra service. When someone sends a message through your live site, it's emailed to you with their address as the reply-to, so answering is just replying. Ullbek also tells you in the chat that someone wrote. Ask "has anyone written?" and it reads you the latest.

Want messages at a different address, like a shop email? Ask Ullbek; it sends a code to the new address to check it's yours. More in Contact forms & submissions.

Your own domain

Ready for an address that's all yours, like yourname.com, with no badge? That needs premium hosting, a monthly plan, and a domain. Both can be done in the chat:

Premium hosting

Ullbek tells you the monthly price and the card it will use, and charges it when you tap yes. It renews each month until you cancel.

Monthly

A new domain

Tell Ullbek the name you'd like. It checks what's free (.com, .net and .org), tells you the yearly price, and on your yes registers it to you and points it at your site.

Yearly

A domain you already own

Tell Ullbek the domain and it connects it, then tells you, in plain words, the settings to change where you bought it.

A new or newly connected domain can take up to a day to work everywhere; your ullbek.site address keeps working meanwhile. Current prices are on the pricing page, and Publishing & going live covers domains in depth.

Credit and payments

Building uses credit; asking questions doesn't. Your free starting credit covers a first site and a round or two of changes. If it runs out, the work pauses where it is (nothing built is lost) and Ullbek offers to add more, naming the amount and the price before anything is charged.

Payments are by card on Stripe's secure page, opened from the chat; Ullbek never asks for card details in the conversation. The first time, you save your card there (no charge that day); after that, a tap is enough. Receipts come by email. To see invoices, change your card or cancel hosting, ask Ullbek for your billing page. See Billing & payments.

When the chat goes quiet

Instagram lets a business reply for 24 hours after your last message. If your site finishes, a payment lands or someone writes through your contact form after that, Ullbek sends it to your email instead: one email, with a button back to the chat. Write again any time and you carry on where you left off. It's the same conversation, days or months later.

Taking your site offline

Changed your mind about being live? Ask Ullbek to take the site offline. It goes back to being a private preview, and you can put it live again later.
