For new and growing web design agencies

Start your own web design agency. From your kitchen table.

If you're good with computers, you can build real, custom websites for the businesses around you, with no coding, no design degree and nothing to pay up front. You bring the clients. Ullbek builds the websites.

The opportunity

The biggest market in web design is the one nobody counts.

Walk down any high street. Count the businesses with no website, a page that's ten years old, or a site that falls apart on a phone. They aren't searching for a website builder. They're waiting for someone they trust to just do it for them.

Every one of them is a client. Not a lead from an ad, but a person you can walk in and talk to: your family's bakery, a friend's salon, the garage you already use.

Can I really do this?

What it takes, and what it doesn't.

You need

  • A laptop and an evening. Ullbek runs in your browser.
  • An eye for what looks good. You know a beautiful site when you see one. That's the skill.
  • The words to describe a business. Who they are, what they sell, who comes through the door.
  • The nerve to say hello. To the café owner, the barber, your cousin with the florist.

You don't need

  • To code. Not a line. Describe it, and Ullbek builds it.
  • A design degree. Every site is designed around the business, not dropped into a template.
  • Money up front. Sign-up is free, with starter credit. Free sites never expire.
  • An office, a team or a course. Just you, until you want more.
How it works

Your first week, step by step.

This is the whole path from signing up to your first client. Nothing is hidden behind a course.

A woman at her kitchen table in the evening smiles at a bakery website on her laptop, a mug of tea beside her.
Most agencies start exactly here: one laptop, one evening, one first site.
  1. Day 1 · minutes

Create your account and you're building straight away. No card needed. You get starter credit to build with.

  2. Day 1

    Build your agency's own website

Describe your new agency: its name, who you help, how to reach you. Ullbek builds it. Your own site is your first proof that you can do this.

  3. Day 2

Put it on your own domain

Pick a name, buy it right inside Ullbek and put your site on premium hosting. Your agency now has its own address, and that is the moment a hobby becomes a business. How domains work

  4. Days 3–5

    Build your portfolio, free

Make three to five sample sites for the kinds of businesses you'll approach: a café, a salon, a plumber. Publish them on free addresses. Free sites never expire, so your portfolio is always there to show.

  5. Day 6 onward

Show your first client their own site

Start with people you know. Share your studio site with friends, family and your WhatsApp groups. Then build a sample of their website and send them the preview link. Then agree a price, put it on their domain, and you're an agency. The full starting-out guide

The work you'll be selling

Sites a business is proud to send people to.

Every one of these was built with Ullbek from a description: real, custom websites designed around each business. Not a template among them.

Example businesses, real websites. Open any of them on your phone. That's what your clients will see.

In a small clothing boutique, a young man shows the owner a website on a tablet and she smiles in delight.
Finding clients

Show, don't pitch.

The easiest sale you'll ever make: build a sample of their website before you meet. Their name, their photos, their story. Send the preview link, or open it on your tablet across the counter.

Nothing persuades like seeing your own business, beautifully, on a real website. And when they ask for a change, you make it in a sentence: tell Ullbek what to change, and it's done.

"Could you make the photos bigger and add our opening hours?" Yes, before the coffee's cold.
Running your agency

One client or fifty, all in one place.

Every client site lives in your main workspace: one list, one bill, one place to build. Only when a client's billing has to be different do they get a workspace of their own. And when a site leaves for good, you hand it over.

Almost every client · and how you start

Your main workspace

All your client sites live in one workspace, named after your studio. You pay Ullbek from one wallet, and you invoice your clients for the build and a monthly care fee. Clients see their site through a preview link; you make every change.

  • One list, one bill, one place to build.
  • Your clients never need an account.
  • Changes are your service, and part of your monthly fee.

And two things that need no extra workspace at all:

Preview links for approvals

Clients open a view-only link to the latest draft, no account needed. Turn it off whenever you like.

Let a client edit their own site

Share a single site with a client as an editor or a viewer. They see that site and nothing else of yours.

Already run an agency?

Deliver more client sites, with nothing to patch.

If your week goes on plugin updates, broken themes and page builders that can't do what the client asked, Ullbek takes the upkeep away and gives you the hours back.

Rebuild from the old address

Give Ullbek a client's current website and it reads the pages and pictures, then builds a fresh, custom site from them.

No plugins, no patches

Nothing to update on a Tuesday night, and nothing to break. Every site is hosted and served for you.

Every client in one place

Your whole client list in one main workspace. Claude and ChatGPT can build there too, through our connectors.

Your team, alongside you

Bring up to ten people into your workspace, with owner, admin and member roles. Seats are free.

25% off hosting past ten sites

Once you have more than ten sites on premium hosting, email us and hosting is 25% off from your 11th site onwards.

Local currency, local ways to pay

Your workspace pays in your country's currency. A client who pays Ullbek directly can pay in theirs.

Straight talk

This isn't a scheme. It's a tool and a method.

You've probably seen a hundred "make money from home" offers. Here's how this one is different: we don't sell you anything up front, and we don't promise you an income. We give you a way to build websites that businesses are proud of. Finding clients is real work, and it's yours. Most people who succeed start with someone they already know.

  • No course to buy
  • No starter kit or upfront fee
  • No recruiting other people
  • No income promises. Ever.
Questions

Before you start.

The full playbook for agencies, from your first client to your fiftieth, is in the agency docs.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You describe the website in plain words and Ullbek builds it. Changes work the same way: say what should change. If you're comfortable with email, apps and a laptop, you have the skills you need.

Do I need to be a designer?

No. Ullbek designs a custom site around each business. What helps is a good eye: knowing what you like, noticing what's off, and asking for it to change. That's a skill you build fast, and your portfolio is where you practise.

What does it cost to start?

Nothing up front. Signing up is free and comes with starter credit, and websites on a free ullbek.site address are free to host and never expire. When you're ready, put your agency's own site on its own domain. Prices are on the pricing page, in your currency.

What should I charge my clients?

Most agencies charge a one-off fee to design, build and launch the site, and a small monthly fee that covers hosting, the domain and changes, with a margin for you. You set both. Price for your neighbourhood: a fraction of what a traditional agency charges. Your own costs are on our pricing page. More on pricing your work.

Can my clients make changes themselves?

Yes, if you want them to. Share one site with a client as an editor and they can ask for changes and publish them. Or keep every change with you and sell that as part of your monthly fee.

Can a client pay for their own website?

Yes. Most clients live in your main workspace and you bill them yourself. When a client would rather pay Ullbek directly, in their own currency, give them a workspace of their own and invite them; they add their own way to pay, and you keep building. How to set it up.

Can I put my studio's name on the sites I build?

Yes, and you should. Ask Ullbek to add a small footer line to each client site, such as Website by Maya's Studio, linking to your studio site. Agree it with the client up front. It's how your work finds you the next client.

Is there a discount if I host lots of client sites?

Yes. Once you have more than ten sites on premium hosting, email us at support@ullbek.com and we'll take 25% off premium hosting from your 11th site onwards. Domains and credit stay at the normal price.

Does my client's website say Ullbek on it?

Sites on a free ullbek.site address carry a small Ullbek badge. A site on premium hosting with its own domain does not. Most client sites go on their own domain, so they carry the client's name and nobody else's.

What can't Ullbek build?

Ullbek builds websites, not web apps: no member logins, no booking engines, no full online shops. A site can link to the tools a business already uses, like a Shopify store or a booking page. Every site can have a working contact form that sends messages straight to the business.
