Everything you need to run a small web design studio from home is now in Ullbek. You bring the clients; Ullbek builds the websites. Here's who it's for, what we built, and how to begin, with a step-by-step playbook when you're ready.
This didn't start as a plan. Over the past few months we kept seeing the same shape in the sites people built: a bakery, then a barbershop, then the gym down the road, then a family restaurant, all from one person's account. Some of them named their own site "Studio" or "Agency" before they had a second client. They were running agencies before we had a word for it. So we built for them, and for everyone who'd like to do the same.
The businesses nobody is counting
Walk down any high street and count the businesses with no website, a page last touched years ago, or a site that falls apart on a phone. There are millions of them around the world. They don't search for "AI website builder", they don't click ads, and they never sign up for anything. They aren't shopping for a tool. They're waiting for someone they trust to just do it for them.
That someone is usually local: a cousin who's good with computers, the neighbour who set up the café's Instagram, a person who already knows the owner by name. An AI website builder can't walk into the bakery. You can. And now you can walk in with the bakery's own website already built on your laptop.
What it takes, and what it doesn't
You need a laptop, an eye for what looks good, the words to describe a business, and the nerve to say hello. You don't need to code, you don't need a design degree, and you don't need money up front. Signing up is free and comes with starter credit, and sites on a free ullbek.site address never expire, so your portfolio of sample sites costs nothing to keep online.
The path we suggest is short. Build your own studio's website first, then put it on your own domain, because that's the moment a hobby becomes a business. Then make three to five sample sites for the kinds of businesses near you, share your studio with friends, family and your WhatsApp groups, and build your first client a sample of their site before you even meet. Nothing persuades like seeing your own business on a beautiful website.
What we built for your studio
Building websites for other people needs a few things that building your own doesn't. They're all here:
- All your clients in one place. Every client site lives in your main workspace: one list, one bill, one place to build. You pay Ullbek and bill your clients yourself.
- Preview links for approvals. Send a client a view-only link to the latest draft. No account needed, it never changes, and one click turns it off.
- Clients who edit their own site. Share a single site with a client as an editor or a viewer. They see that site and nothing else of yours.
- Clients who pay for themselves. When a client wants to pay Ullbek directly, in their own currency, give them a workspace of their own and keep building for them.
- A clean hand-over. When a site should leave for good, hand it over: the files, the live address, the hosting and the domain all move, with no downtime, and the client doesn't need a card to accept.
- Help, when you grow. Bring up to ten people into your workspace, with owner, admin and member roles. Seats are free.
- Local currency. Your workspace pays in your country's currency, with local ways to pay.
Put your studio's name on every site
If we could ask one thing of every studio, it's this: add a small line to the footer of each client site, like Website by Maya's Studio, linking to your studio's site. Every customer who visits the bakery's website is a possible next client, and every business owner who asks "who did your website?" finds you. It's normal agency practice, so agree it with the client up front. There's no setting for it. You just ask.
Running lots of client sites
Price for your neighbourhood. The businesses you'll build for are mostly local, and a small studio can charge them a fraction of what a traditional agency asks: a one-off fee to build and launch the site, and a small monthly fee that covers hosting, the domain and changes, with a margin for you. Ullbek's own costs are on our pricing page, in your currency.
And when you grow: once you have more than ten sites on premium hosting, email us at support@ullbek.com and we'll take 25% off premium hosting from your 11th site onwards. Domains and credit stay at the normal price. It's our way of making sure the margin gets better as your studio does.
What this isn't
You've probably seen a hundred "make money from home" offers. This isn't one of them. There's no course to buy, no starter kit, no upfront fee, and no recruiting anyone. We don't promise you an income. We give you a way to build websites that businesses are proud of, and a method for using it. Finding clients is real work, and it's yours. Most people who succeed start with someone they already know.
If that sounds like you, start with one website: yours.
